Microsoft to rollback “Click to activate this control” for embedded content in April 2008

Flash developers take note. The incredibly annoying “Click to activate this control” problem in Internet Explorer is going away soon.

“Microsoft has now licensed the technologies from Eolas, removing  the ‘click to activate’ requirement in Internet Explorer.” This will improve the usability of Flash controls when viewed in IE, as well as other embedded objects like Java Applets.
